WSOP Day 33 Update: High Rollers Tomorrow, Upcoming Parties, The Kessler Slowroll?
High Rollers
With limited events approaching before the WSOP Main Event players are gearing up for a new event added to the 2010 WSOP schedule. The high roller $25k 6-max starts tomorrow. This will be the 5th 6-handed event on the WSOP schedule. I’m sure we will have a big name field and we’ll be getting you some video and coverage from the floor.
P-p-p-p-parrrrty!
Its that time of year! Party time before the big event! I’m trying to sort out my schedule but damn there’s just too many things happening this weekend. July 3rd Ante Up for Africa will bring hundreds of celebs to the Rio for the $5k charity tournament. If you can’t afford the buy-in 2+2 is hosting a flip-a-ment at Aria for only $225. A flip-a-ment is all in every hand until there’s a winner, I run bad in flip so I’ll be watching from the sidelines. There is also a chance for us media peeps to finally play some cards at the Hard Rock WSOP Media Freeroll. Later year I won the media freeroll collecting $1k, an iPod touch, and a bottle of Don Julio. July 4th Phil Gordon turns 40 and Perry Friedman is throwing him a bash with booze and BBQ. I should have a nice hangover for Day 1a of the main event on the 5th. Bluff, Tilt, 888 and Poker Stars party will be later in the week. Stars has a surprise musical performer booked for the party, last year it was Nelly and the year before Dita Von Tease. There will be vids for all of you who can’t make it to the parties.

Kessler Slowroll?
Allen Kessler made his 8th cash today in the $1,500 NLH event. He started the day with about 9k in chips and only 15 people away from the money. We all know the pain that comes with the bubble and how losing with AA can make it that much worse. So here comes the Kessler slowroll in question. I’m not exactly sure how the action went down preflop but all the money was in and Kessler was covered, player turns over JJ and Kessler sits still and announces ‘I have aces.’ He doesn’t turn over his hand, he sits there begging the dealer, ‘please don’t do this to me, don’t do this to me!!!’ He finally flips the AA and puts his head in his hands, still begging the dealer to help him hold up. The table joined in on the fun shouting and moaning as if a J hit the board. It of course did not, his aces held up one time and Kessler doubled to make his 8th WSOP cash and improve his WSOP rankings. Was this a slowroll? I’m not sure if it was or what I should exactly call it but either way it’s a good story.
