WSOP Day 19 – Final Votes, Farha on Omaha, and D Negs
Times Up!
Voting was completed at 12am EST in the Tournament of Champions. I didn’t get a chance to place my vote but honestly I’m just not that interested, I plan on eating BBQ, drinking beers, pushing people in the pool, and watching fireworks July 4th while the tournament plays out.
I hope this guy gets in!!!!
There are 9 confirmed players in the TOC so far: Annie Duke, Mike “The Mouth” Matusow, Barry Shulman, Joe Cada, and Mike Sexton. There were two wild card spots which have been filled by online qualifier Andrew Barton from the UK and Bertrand “Elky” Grospellier who won his seat by playing a WSOP Academy SNG satellite.
Sammy Beats the Brit
Sammy Farha wins his 3rd bracelet in the $10k Omaha High-Low Split championship after a long 5 hour heads up match defeating James Dempsey who was looking to claim his 2nd bracelet of the series. All 3 of Sammy’s bracelets are in Omaha games which makes sense since he is the author of “Farha on Omaha”, an Omaha strategy book. You can buy his book along and check out his clothing line at samfarha.com.
Sammy is a love him or hate him type of guy yet I find him strangely sexy in a weird Tony Soprano way. Is that weird to say?
D Negs Chats it up

Be like D, stay drug free!
Daniel Negreanu was awfully chatty today at the table, like thats anything new. He was on his 2nd life in the $2,500 NLH 6-max and had 2 cute drunk English girls on the rail taking World Series of Poker images and cheering him on, who wouldn’t be in a great mood. D Negs was active at the table giving his best English impersonation, but when a boy from London at the table wasn’t impressed, D Negs played it off as Australian. He also admitted to never smoking pot, something most poker players can’t do without. Not even 1 joint in his whole life! I wonder what it would be like to get Daniel high? I recently got my medical marijuana card, maybe I’ll sneak a pot brownie in as desert one of these days, it could be high-ly entertaining…haha get it! I’m a dork.
