WSOP Day 15 Update – The Ladies Take Center Stage
Day 15 at the 2010 WSOP has kicked off with the $1,000 Ladies World Championship. While there five other events that will either kick off or resume a little later today, right now the ladies are getting all of the attention.
No Boys Allowed
A trend that has been popping up all around the country is men entering women’s events. The WSOP Ladies 2010 is no exception. The WSOP cannot ban men from playing, and as a result we have several men in the field, including Shaun Deeb. Their reasoning is that they feel the field is very weak and offers a great opportunity to make money. Here is a pic of one guy in the field and notice the glare that he gets from one lady.
Of course, not all guys are so lucky to make money in ladies events. While I was walking around getting pics, one many busted out of the event to the thunderous applause of the ENTIRE FIELD. You read that right. Everyone cheered his bustout. Let that be a warning to you guys. If you enter a ladies event and bust, expect to be embarrassed.
Let’s Take a Break
This year, a first has happened at the World Series of Poker. At some point, all the ladies at a particular table decided that they would take a break. The floor man came by and tried to get the dealer to go ahead and deal, but he then realized that in order to deal, there must be at least one player present. As such, the dealer just sat there.
The floor man considered issuing a penalty, but the floor supervisor stated, “What good is a penalty? They will just take a longer break, and that is what they wanted.” He also said that he has been working in the industry since 1996 and has never seen that before. Honestly, neither have I. As such, the dealer and floor waited for the ladies to return and then issued them a warning for their actions.
So Who is Playing?
Our very own Melissa Castello is playing in the event. She is sitting with around 2,000 in chips when I stopped by. Players started with 3,000.
Vanessa Rousso was also in today’s field. She is looking lovely as ever.
Lacey Jones is also taking her shot. She flashed us the smile that so many guy have fallen in love with.
Today we have two final tables. The $2,000 Limit Holdem and $10,000 2-7 Lowball World Championships will play to a bracelet today. The $1,500 Stud and $1,500 PLO restart here shortly and are “scheduled” to play to a final table.
I’ll be back later with more from the 2010 World Series of Poker.
