What a brat!!!

Carter Phillips wins the $1,500 6-max NLH. This kid is only 21 and already has over $1.8 million in tournament winnings with only 9 months of live poker experience due to World Series of Poker rules and regulations. I met him when I interviewed him in Barcelona after he won the EPT and I only wanted him to win because he was wearing a Cubs hat at the final table. I can’t really mean it when I call him a brat though, he is super nice and was so emotional at the EPT he could barely get through the interview, it was kinda cute. Next for Carter would be to clinch a WPT win to snag WSOP, EPT, and WPT titles within a year. Has it been done before?

Worth the Wait

Well not everyone can be as blessed as Carter and win bracelets after only 9 months. Steve Gee finally gets his time to shine after 30 years of grinding with a win in the $1k No-Limit Hold ‘em Event #13 and$472,479. Gee has now given me hope that maybe in the next 30 years I can finally win something!

I’ve got a Golden Ticket!

Well I don’t but Elky does. Elky beat out 8 other players in a TOC SNG to win the last spot in the Tournament of Champions. They held the SNG off Rio property and filmed it for the WSOP Academy to use for teaching in future seminars. The 20 players who were voted into the TOC will be released on June 17th.
