After a “day off” at the poker tables, I am back here at the Rio. Two events kicked off today. Day 1B of the $1,000 NL Holdem Event kicked off at Noon and the 7 Card Stud 8 or Better World Championship kicks off at 5 p.m. PDT. Last night, Men “The Master” Nguyen won his 7th bracelet when he won the $10,000 7 Card Stud World Championship.

Multi-Tabling For Bracelets

The story of the day is Tom “durrrr” Dwan who is currently still in both Event #11 ($1,500 NL Holdem) and Event #14 ($1,500 NL 2-7 Lowball). According to chip counts on a certain website who has been famous this year for crappy chip count reporting, Dwan is in first place with 17 players left in the $1,500 NL. He has less than $10,000 in the 2-7 with 45 players left. 28 pay.

Dwan has a couple of times come sprinting down the isles of the Amazon Room to play his stack at the 2-7. I tried to get a pic, but the pic looked more like those blobby pictures of Bigfoot that you see than it did Dwan running. However, it wound up being for nothing as the last time he came over to the lowball event, he busted. Check out the following picture. Looks like both Erik Seidel and Tom Dwan had the same sentiment about Dwan’s multi-tabling.

Randomness

Since players were waiting for the $10,000 Stud 8 Event to kick off, some decided to check out some of the other action. First we had a “creepy old guy alert.” I mean, we had a David Sklansky sighting.

Where are the cute girls at?

Sometime players make it too easy. For example, if Mike Matusow shows up to an area you are covering, you are almost guaranteed to have good material. Allen Kessler showed up wearing an “On Tilt” shirt.

At least tonight isn't Holdem.

The Amazon Room has quieted down a bit while the players grind things out. I’ll be back a little later with more from the World Series of Poker.
