The 2011 WSOP Main Event Will Be Won by a PokerStars Player
I have noticed an interesting, but odd trend at the WSOP Main Event Final Table. Since 2003, 6 of the 8 Main Event Champions were PokerStars players / patched by PokerStars. While it is true that PokerStars sends more Main Event players than any other site, you would think that there would have been more than 1 Main Event Champ from Full Tilt in the last 8 years.
The only two Main Event winners since 2003 that were not with PokerStars were Jerry Yang and Jamie Gold. Yeah, real ambassadors of the game there. Yang was a nice story at the time but he didn’t do much as poker’s ambassador in 2008. We all know of the scandal revolving around Jamie Gold’s win. He still can’t get an endorsement.
So next year, the Main Event winner will be a PokerStars players based on historical trends. In other words, if your favorite player makes the final table, he better jump ship quick as only three players will be able to wear PokerStars patches.
Damn….by that logic Phil Ivey will never win the Main Event. Sorry Norman.
