Thang Luu went from being a two time bracelet winner to an utter idiot. In a story that I just heard about thanks to another website, apparently Thang Luu got himself banned from Harrah’s for breaking a dealer’s hand.

So Long Thang Luu - Please let the door hit you on the way out.

From the reports I have read, Luu and another player were in a pot until showdown. The other player stated that he could not see Luu’s cards. The dealer took the cards and slid them closer to the opponent. Luu did not like this and balled his hand into a fist and smashed the dealer’s hand, breaking the metacarpal bones in the hand. After the incident, Luu was taken into custody and subsequently banned from all Harrah’s properties.

I don’t care who you are, that type of behavior towards a dealer or staff cannot be tolerated. I respect what Thang Luu did during his two bracelet runs, but dealer abuse of this magnitude is inexcusable. Some reports claim that he was intoxicated. I personally don’t care. If you abuse dealers, players, or staff in that matter, you’re done.

Prahlad Friedman used to be on my shit list for his accusations of theft towards Jeff Lisandro, but this takes things to a whole new level. Thang Luu has officially trumped Friedman in my book for biggest jackass in WSOP history.

I hope Harrah’s sticks with this ban and keeps him away from the WSOP. It’s sad that someone with that much talent has to result to mobster style tactics. Enjoy your two bracelets Thang Luu. Hopefully you will never get another chance to win a third.
