My WSOP Plans
The World Series of Poker kicks off in less than two week. I have made my final plans to head out to Vegas for about a month. I’m actually going to drive cross country to Vegas instead of fly like most people do. I enjoy the adventure of it all and enjoy seeing different parts of the country. I especially love New Mexico.

What it's All About
Anywho, let’s talk poker. My WSOP schedule is going to be somewhat limited this year. Part of this is due to scheduling. A couple of events that I would really like to play are happening after I need to return home.
First, I will be playing in the “Stimulus Event” on May 30th. This is a big switch for me as I normally stick to Limit tournaments when I play the WSOP. However, this may turn out to be the largest live poker field in history. I want to be a part of that. Also, the potential payday is hard to ignore.
The next event that I will play at the WSOP will likely be Event #26, which is the Limit Holdem event. I cashed in this event in 2006 and 2007. Last year, I was covering another tournament and could not play the event. I look for a strong performance here.
Depending on how I am running, I very well may play Event #31, which is the $1,500 H.O.R.S.E. event. I have been running decent the last few live H.O.R.S.E. tournaments that I have played in.
Outside of the WSOP, I will be playing in several tournaments around Vegas. Binions is holding their Annual Poker Classic and I have done very well there the past two years. I’m looking to play 3 to 5 events there, including their Stud 8 event which I have cashed in the last two years straight.
The Golden Nugget is also holding their Summer Poker Series of tournaments. I played there in the winter. I final tabled the Mixed Event and finished 9th in the 2nd H.O.R.S.E. tournament. I will play at least 4 of their H.O.R.S.E. tournaments. I look forward to trying to make another final table there and hopefully take one down.
That is my current tentative schedule for my Vegas visit. I will keep all you poker junkies updated here about my progress during my Vegas trip. Good luck to you at the tables.
