Doyle Brunson Going For 11th Bracelet
I wanted to wait until the money was actually reached before I said anything about Doyle’s performance at the WSOP Europe. However, now that they are in the money and he has almost 250,000 in chips, it’s time to give him some props.

You'd Be Smiling Too If Cyndy Was Sitting In Your Lap
Yes, Doyle is among the greatest of all-time, but it still is amazing to watch that man go as he gets older. I am also glad to see that he is still in the hunt for this title. Do I think he will win? Logic tells me that he will probably finish around 20th place, but logic doesn’t always apply to poker. One double up puts him 3rd in chips. If Doyle can get chips and hold onto them, we may very well be talking about his Main Event final table performance.
As great as Phil Ivey’s run has been in the Las Vegas WSOP Main Event, wouldn’t it be great if Doyle could trump Ivey with his 11th bracelet. Most of you know I am a big fan of Ivey, but I would love to see Doyle trump Ivey. Now THAT would be great for poker.
Even if Doyle doesn’t make it, there are still a lot of strong players still left including chip leader Matt Hawrilenko, Ram Vaswani, Daniel Negreanu, Steve Zolotow, and two November Niners in Antoine Saout and James Akenhead. That isn’t even including short stacks Men “The Master” Nguyen and David “DevilFish” Ulliott.
Wednesday should shape up to be a great day at the WSOP Europe. Just how great of a day remains to be seen.
