Ante Up for Africa

Finally there are some good looking poker players here at the Rio today.  Matt Damon, Jerome Bettis, and some random hot model looking girl are joined by many other celebs playing for a cause.

This is the 4th annual Ante Up for Africa tournament which benefits Refugees International’s work helping displaced people of Darfur and Sudan.  Annie Duke and Don Cheadle are the founders of the event and have raised over $3 million through donations since 2006.  This years tournament brought in 81 players with $131k set for first place along with a bracelet for 1st and 2nd place donated by Howard Lederer.  Phil Hellmuth was the host of the event but is currently in the $10k Omaha event with only 25 players left.  Thankfully Brad Garrett took over the job and has been having fun harrassing players and railers all day.
