Body Odor Now Banned From the WSOP

Rule 37B Effectively Eliminates Pig Pen from Playing the 2010 WSOP
The rules for the 2010 WSOP were released today. Among them is a rule that has been in need for many years now, but they have not bothered to come up with until now. Rule 37B clearly states:
“All participants are entitled to expect civility and courtesy from one another at every Tournament table and throughout the Tournament area. Any individual who encounters behavior that is not civil or courteous — or is abusive in any way — is encouraged
to immediately contact a Tournament official. This shall include, but is not limited to, any player whose personal hygiene has become disruptive to the other players seated at their table. The determination as to whether an individual’s personal hygiene is
disruptive to other players shall be determined by the Tournament Staff which may, in its discretion, implement sanctions upon any such player who refuses to remedy the situation in a manner satisfactory to Rio.”
So, Mr. “I will not shower for the duration of the WSOP” will no longer be permitted to offend his tablemates with his stench. Personally, I don’t know why someone would go 6 weeks without bathing, but there are some people that think that this is good for their game. Smelling like game does not improve one’s game folks. Thankfully, now the staff can do something about this problem and point to rules that are already in place.
So if you go to the WSOP, take a shower. Otherwise, expect a penalty.

It could be argued that with a potentially rank body odor one could hope to distract the other players at the table perhaps enticing them to make mistakes. In this way it could be seen as trying to improve their game.

lol, Funny that people thought smelling bad would improve their game. I hope the new rule helps!
