Initial Thoughts on Full Tilt Sale
I got out of bed this afternoon expecting to see a slew of gripe posts about how the AGCC screwed over Full Tilt and people complaining about not being able to get their balances.
Instead, I see the following:
Full Tilt Sold to Bernie Tapie Group

I've broken out the bullshit button on this one. How about you?
At first I thought it was a joke. Then I read it was legit and that Tapie had even conducted an interview regarding the “Acquisition Agreement.”
A few thoughts:
1. This is awful convenient that this happened the day after the license was suspended.
2. Tapie stated that they are going to try and find ways to get around putting in all the money to repay player funds. Essentially, it appears they are hoping the DOJ will give them seized funds to return to players. Good luck with that one buddy.
3. They are going to keep the Full Tilt brand? What’s the new slogan going to be? Full Tilt – Under New Management – Scam Free Since 2012?
4. He hopes to have the site open by January 2012. Who’s going to license you? You’re going to repay worldwide players and reopen by January? Even David Copperfield isn’t going to touch that trick.
I know I am not the only person thinking this is another potential string along by Full Tilt. The timing is just too convenient and seems a blatant attempt to deflect attention from the fact the AGCC suspended their license.
At the same time, this does give players with funds at Full Tilt a “runner-runner straight draw” of a chance to get funds. Maybe they will get there. We will see, but I doubt it will be by January.

It seems like a publicity stunt at the expense of some weird self indulgent fantasy for Tapie!
