Liv Boeree Leaves UB – Where Will She Land?
Liv Boeree is no longer endorsed by UB.com. PokerNewsDaily.com reported today that the online site and Boeree have split ways when a new contract could not be reached.
This isn’t a total shock. There were rumblings of this during the 2010 World Series of Poker when she played the Main Event minus any UB logos. At the time, she had said that they were still in negotiations and it seemed that she may resign. As such, I really didn’t bother to report on it. With her recent performances live, I figured she would be a lock to resign.
Fail.
Now Boeree is a free agent. She would be a fantastic addition to any online poker site, but with her EPT victory, it would seem more logical for PokerStars to pick her up. Before her EPT victory, I viewed Boeree as a player that was more popular for her looks over her prowess at the table. With that EPT victory, now would be a good time for someone to pick her up and play off her success.
In a way, I hope she does not end up at Full Tilt Poker. The reason is that unless they go out of their way to promote her, I think she will be lost in the shuffle somewhat. In the end, I still see her going to PokerStars.
No, I do not have any inside knowledge on this deal. It is just what makes the most sense. What do you think?
